1. Jemima1 Harriman (1015) was born circa 1740 in Rockaway, Morris Co., New Jersey. She married John Pipes Jr. (1014), son of John Pipes , Sr. (240) and Susanna Hathaway (1268), circa 1760 in New Jersey. She died before 1777; was mentioned in her father's will in 1772, but John Married Mary Morris in 1777.

2. Rhoda2 Pipes (1266) (Jemima1 Harriman) was born circa 1760 in Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey; may have been the oldest daughter of Jemima and John Pipes. But, this is not proven and she may be a daughter of John Pipes Sr and Susanna Hathaway also. She married Jacob DeCamp (1267) circa 1780 in Morristown, Morris Co., New Jersey.

3. Joseph2 Pipes (1135) (Jemima1 Harriman) was born on 3/17/1763 in Rockaway, Morris Co., New Jersey. He married (--?--) (_____) (1167) circa 1784. He died on 2/23/1856 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania, at age 92. He was buried on 2/26/1856 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania; was possibly buried on his farm property in an unmarked grave. Shirley Hamil reported to me that she saw the stone markers for Joseph leaning against a building on his old farm property in Washington Co.
He was listed in the 1850 census in Morris, Washington, PA age 84 with two of his daughters in the household.

4. John2 Pipes (1012) (Jemima1 Harriman) was born circa 1767 in Morristown, New Jersey. He married Eleanor 'Nellie' Slater (1013), daughter of Thomas Slater (849) and Eleanor (_____) (2402), between 1794 and 1799 in Fort Jackson, Pennsylvania. He died circa 1838 in Pennsylvania.
He and Elanor Slater are first mentioned in Elizabeth Ellsberry's book "John Pipes Jr." Their presence in early SW Pennsylvania is documented.2

Note that her name was given as Molly and Polly in various places. ( RJP).3 He died on 2/8/1877 in Pleasant Twp, Knox Co., Ohio. He was buried on 2/11/1877 in Union Grove Cemetery, Pleasant Twp., Knox Co., Ohio.3

21. Phebe3 Pipes (1173) (Joseph2, Jemima1 Harriman) was born circa 1800 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania.14 She married Cornelius Jennings (1272), son of Isaac Jennings (3865), circa 1822. She was buried in Prosperity Cemetery, Old Concord, Greene Co., Pennsylvania.
She lived in Washington & Greene Co. PA. The 1850 census of Greene Co Pa. shows a Samuel Jennings age 32, who is living with wife Emily. This may be a son of Phebe and Cornelius or a brother of Cornelius. Dates do not seem to match.

He married Elizabeth (_____) (3062) before 1848 in Pennsylvania.11 He died on 5/28/1884 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried in 1884 in West Union Cemetery, West Union, Pennsylvania; does not have a headstone.15,11
He was living during the 1850 census, age 47, at Morris, Washington Co., PA with his second wife and children Morgan: 15, Melinda: 8, Samuel: 5, William: 2, Rhoda: 18 and Suzetta: 13. During the 1860 census he was at Morris, Washington Co., PA at age 60 with his second wife and sons Samuel & John. During the 1880 census he lived at Morris, Washington Co., PA age 77 with his third wife.

Malinda3 Pipes (1176) (Joseph2, Jemima1 Harriman) was born in 1805 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania.17 She married Robert McFarland (1275) on 5/18/1833 in Knox Co., Ohio.6 Malinda died before 1857 when her fathers estate was sold in Orphan's court in Pennsylvania. The court records name her as an heir, mention her relation to Robert McFarland and indicate that she was deceased before this date.17

Isaac3 Pipes (1179) (Joseph2, Jemima1 Harriman) was born on 6/16/1807 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania.18 He married Elizabeth Biggs (1) on 5/4/1830 in Knox Co., Ohio.6 He died on 11/8/1850 in Harmony Twp., Morrow Co., Ohio, at age 43. He was buried in 1850; is buried in Chester Baptist Churchyard, Chester Twp. Morrow Co., Ohio.
Isaac and his wife Elizabeth Biggs, moved to Burns Corner, Harmony Township, Morrow Co., Ohio. They are listed in the 1850 Census of Ohio as Isaac, age 43 and Elizabeth, age 40 with only 10 of their 12 children. Susan and Meker are not listed as they died at a young age.
There is considerable documentation for the children as the parents both died young; Isaac in 1850 and Elizabeth in 1853. The courts were involved with guardianship etc. Al Potts has done extensive work on this family and deserves the credit for documenting thier history.

The 12 known children of Isaac3 Pipes (1179) and Elizabeth Biggs (1) were as follows:

26. Joseph3 Pipes (1178) (Joseph2, Jemima1 Harriman) was born on 9/4/1809 in Washington Co., Pennsylvania.21 Joseph Pipes married Hannah Johnson in Greene Co., Pennsylvania about 1829. Their marriage record has not been found in Greene Co. The marriage was recorded in a family bible passed down from their daughter Phoebe and is noted in census records in Iowa.21 Barbara Smith's bible notes report the date of his death. The probate records of Greene Co. report that his estate was probated in April of 1850.21
Joseph died in October of 1849 and his wife Hannah moved to Linn Co., Iowa with their 4 children shortly afterward. There was at least one reference in Hennen's work to the fact that his family moved to Iowa. Most of the facts reported on his family are from a family Bible that belonged to his daughter Phoebe and from census and vital records of Iowa. The bible notes were sent by Barbara Smith of Oregon in October of 2000. There is also at least one deed entry referring to Joseph and his wife "Hannah" in Greene Co. records.12,22,21

He married Mary (_____) (4601) after 1833. He married Elvira Rinehart (1011) after 1850 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania. He died on 9/5/1881 in Franklin, Greene Co., Pennsylvania, at age 81. He was buried on 9/7/1881 in Waters Cemetery, Franklin, Greene Co., Pennsylvania.31
He has children by his 1st wife living with their grandfather George Kent in 1850 census.32 In the 1850 census of Franklin, Greene Co., PA he is 52 years old and living with his brother Washington Pipes age 32. 1860 census Waynesburg, Center, Greene, PA (age 56) w/wife Elvira age 42 & son John. In 1863 he sold some land; 1870 census of Franklin, Greene, PA age 69, w/wife Elvira age 52, & son John age 15. In 1872 & 1874 when he sold Morrisville Lot, he was 'of' Morgan Township. The following data is from Kathryn Bassett's notes on James S. Pipes: James was a native of Franklin Township, and married to Elvira per his son's bio. The Death date is taken from his tombstone, birthdate calculated; as he was age 81y 2m 21d. He was Married 1st to Ann Kent from 1823-1830 when she died. They had two daughters. He married 2nd, Margaret ____ from ca 1830 to 1833 when she died. He married 3rd, Mary (_____) after 1833. Two male children born 1830-1835 should be Mary's. Son James' marriage record says his parents are James and Mary. James Sr. married fourth, Elvira Rinehart, sometime after 1850.

He has a will. It is in will bk 3 pg 15 file 1252. Executor was Marshall Rinehart.

Washington3 Pipes (1199) (John2, Jemima1 Harriman) was born on 9/27/1815 in Pennsylvania.33 He married Cynthia Ann Clark (894) The date for this marriage is taken from a family Bible in the Possesion of Herman Pipes of Cameron, WV by Dorothy Hennen. These Bible notes were sent to R. Pipes by Louise Hewitt in March ,1999.33 He died in 1878 in Marshall Co., West Virginia.34
He sold land to Simon Rinehart in 1849. He was listed in the 1850 census in Franklin, Greene Co. PA., age 32. Real estate value $2400. Also in the 1860 census Franklin, Greene Co., PA., age 44. Real estate value $4000. In the 1850 census his brother James, age 52, is living with him as well as James' son James, age 9. Also listed in 1850 is a Cinthy A. Clark age 24. Dont know who this is, possibly a niece of Cinthy Ann Pipes.
In the 1870 Census of Marshall Co. WV he is listed as age 54, born in Pa., With him are wife "Cynthia" (spelling may be wrong), Sons Thomas age 25 and William S. age 14., both born in Pa.12
