Abraham was a Methodist circuit preacher in the area and was noted as being the first man to do so west of the Mississippi. Malcolm Pipes reports that he is aware of the old family cemetery and its location. Abraham owned property in Ouachita Parish half way between the present day towns of Douglas and Choudrant. He probably moved his family to Choudrant before 1820. The property where the homesite was located is currently owned by Willamite Lumber Company. There is a small family burial plot there that is marked only with field stones. It is about 50 yards east of the spot where the house stood.
